What we do and who we are
We are the Garcia Family
Lauren and Juan Garcia returned to the Palouse in 2020, and have been establishing themselves and their family here ever since. They met while attending WSU in 2009, graduated in 2011, lived in Seattle for 9 years, got married, had their first son, Leonides in May 2020, and then decided to put down roots in Pullman. Lauren is a certified teacher with an ELL endorsement, and a Masters in Teaching, and Juan is a business advisor for a non-profit called, Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship. Juan is a first generation Mexican-American who spent the majority of his childhood in Quincy, WA. Lauren was born and grew up in the Seattle suburbs, very fascinated by language and culture since she was very young. Spanish is her third language (mostly learned while living in Mexico), and Juan and Lauren currently only speak Spanish to their two boys both in and outside the home with plans to incorporate more English for Leo soon making the house a “spanglish speaking” household.
